How can mold make you ill?
Due to improper carpet cleaning, the carpets face rapid mold growth. Most of the times, you don’t even notice it, but it starts it harmful procedure.
Fungi mainly grow by spreading spores in the air. These Spores are reproductive cells which often go unnoticed by the human eye.
These spores grow rapidly and can survive harsh conditions which don’t support fungi growth. So, if think you live in a dry climate area and are immune to this issue, you can be wrong!
Now, the mold is a type of fungi and according to certain scientists, there are over 1000 species of fungi that can grow in your house. The ones that most commonly occur on dirty carpets is mold.
According to human response towards the molds, they’re classified into three groups:
1. Allergenic Molds: These don’t lead to life-threatening situations but can be a major cause of concern if you have asthma or some allergies. They specifically bother children who are more prone to being allergic to something.
2. Pathogenic Molds: These molds can be harmful if you have a suppressive immune system. They can even grow inside your lungs and cause pneumonia.
3. Toxigenic molds: As evident from the name, these kinds of molds are toxic. Mycotoxins released by these fungi can cause immune system suppression and cancer. An example of these is aflatoxin which is one of the leading causes of cancer. These toxins lay on the spores and can be easily inhaled or ingested by humans, unknowingly.
In fact, all of your body’s system – reproductive system, immune system, vascular system, respiratory system, skin, neurological system, digestive and the urinary system can face multiple diseases because of these toxic molds.
How to avoid getting ill?
The primary reason behind mold growth is the dampness. If you got a carpet cleaned but the pros didn’t dry them properly, your carpet is probably making you sick.
