Profile
The Company was founded in Macon, Georgia by Morris Putzel in 1893, only five years after the
electric light bulb was patented.
During the company's early days, Morris Putzel and his brother Isadore installed direct current power plants in middle Georgia. They also converted gas-lit buildings to electric and installed distribution systems and electric lighting throughout middle Georgia. As Macon grew, so did Putzel, gaining a reputation for reliability, superior performance and competitive pricing. Long time president, Morris Purcel, sold Putzel Electric in 2001 but could not resist the challenge to start again and build another great company.
