Hansen's Towing originated May 28, 1959 by the founder, Ronald Hansen. Like most towing companies, he started as a gas/service station. In the service business you figure out quickly that the need of a tow truck is inevitable. So approximately eight months after the service station opened, Ron started towing cars in for repair. Ron was a one man show towing cars in, fixing them up, and pumping gas. In 1962 he went to work for the city of Everett towing wrecked/abandoned cars and city vehicles. This sprung a need for more space and in 1963 Ron bought storage yard property on Smith Avenue in Everett which is the primary storage lot for the business to date. In 1968 Ron and his small crew took on more business – the Washington State Patrol and I-5. This stretch of freeway brought more cars to the area and has helped our great county grow to where it is today. By the late 70's the service station was being mostly supported by the booming tow business so Ron let the service station go and took on full time towing and recovery. In 1980 Hansen's Towing expanded into the city of Marysville taking over a struggling company, Harry's Towing. New in 2009, Hansen's Towing started another sublet company in the city of Marysville called Discount Towing & Recovery, in hopes to reach out to more customers in the current struggling economy.
