Joseph Heil started in the plumbing and heating trade in the winter of 1956. Mr. Heil first worked as a residential apprentice plumber and worked his way up to be a residential journeymen plumber. After several years of underground water and sewer work he started working for a company which specialized in commercial and industrial work. In the spring of 1968, Mr. Heil joined Plumber’s Local 48 in Baltimore Md. He continued working through the plumbers union until the recession in 1975. Mr. Heil was then laid off from the plumbers union for an extended period of time.
